Rock The Shores: Part Six

I would have never guessed in a million years that I'd be shooting a Weezer concert in my lifetime. I never imagined they'd come to our little city let alone headline a big summer music festival.

Weezer was huge when I was growing up. Most of my friends had all their records and really loved the band. I was never all that into them. Don't get me wrong I really liked songs like "Hash Pipe" and "Undone The Sweater Song," but at the time Weezer was super popular in my social circles I was listening to The Doors or The Talking Heads.

The reason I've always liked Weezer has probably been solely based on their music videos. I used to own a box set of music videos by Spike Jonze and he did some really great Weezer videos. Also, the one with The Muppets was pretty great.

Here I was shooting with some of the best photographers in town inches away from Rivers Cuomo singing my heart out. Who knew I knew all the words to all these great Weezer songs.

The band was spectacular. They won me over and now I'm a fan. I'd recommend anyone go see them. Weezer is a blast. It looks like they are still having fun and enjoying what they are doing. Which is more than can be said for some bands that have been around half as long as they have.

Rock the Shores was an amazing weekend filled with great music, friends, food, and beer. I can't wait for next year. If their is one thing I've taken away from the weekend is that I still really love music. Especially live music. It's a huge part of my life and obviously why I became a concert photographer.

All of my Rock The Shores and Weezer photos are now up on my flickr.
